Ice Climbing Courses

Alpine Guides Mount Cook run a 5 Day winter 'Ice Climbing Experience' (ICE) Course at the head of Bush Stream on Glentanner Station (July only). Helicopters are flown in and out and the course is 1:4 Guide to Participant ratio.

This area has only been recently explored for climbing. Currently there are 18 named routes; 6 on the southern side of the valley and 12 on the northern side. Route grades range from WI 2 to WI 5.

For an introduction to Ice Climbing, this can be incorporated into an Ice Trek trip on the Tasman Glacier.
