Heli-Hike the Tasman Glacier

This scenic adventure begins with a helicopter flight over the Tasman Glacier. Landing on the white ice of the Tasman Glacier , your professional guide will supply you with the necessary equipment to explore. You'll then be taken on an interpretative journey to experience the glacier's amazing ever changing ice formations and features. The return flight takes you close to the spectacular 1,000-meter-high Hochstetter Icefall.

Moderate fitness level is required. This is not a strenuous hike but there are steps and you are walking on uneven terrain.

Professional and experienced guides.

Boots, crampons and jackets are supplied.

Minimum Age: 8 years. The glacier is potentially hazardous. For safety, children must be able to walk confidently on uneven terrain and be able to follow instructions.

Trip duration:

3 hours, Ice time up to two hours.

Departure Times:

October to April (summer): 9AM, 10AM, 11.30AM and 12.30PM

May and June (autumn): 9AM and 11.30AM

July, August, September: 9AM and 11AM

From 1st of October 2024: 9AM, 11AM, 1PM.
