Heli-Hike the Tasman Glacier

This scenic adventure begins with a helicopter flight over the Tasman Glacier, to around 1200 metres.

Your walk starts from a remote landing site on the white ice of the Tasman Glacier. Your professional guide will outfit you with the necessary equipment to explore. Your guide will take you on an interpretative  journey to explore the glacier's amazing ice formations, and possibly ice caves.

Ice-walking time is about two hours.

Your return flight takes you close to the spectacular 1,000-meter-high Hochstetter Icefall.

Duration: 3 hours

Departure Times: 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm daily (in winter: 11 am only)

Required Fitness Level: Moderate

Minimum Age: 8 years
